With autumn comes cooler temperatures, changing leaves, and crisp evenings. And what else goes along with fall season? Apple picking and pumpkin patches, of course! That makes Fall the best time of year to visit County Line Orchard, located in Hobart Indiana on the county line between Lake and Porter Counties.

However, there’s much more than just apple picking at The Orchard. If you’re looking for a fun, inexpensive, local place that’s perfect for spending the day with the whole family, this NW Indiana popular destination has everything you need for an unforgettable fall experience. Fall Season opens Aug 31 thru Oct 31.

From apple picking to hayrides to corn mazes, there are so many activities at this orchard that it’ll be hard not to make some great memories of having fun with the whole family. Here are 7 reasons why you should visit County Line Orchard this fall:

When you visit County Line Orchard, you will see a live, working apple orchard. Apple picking is the biggest attraction at The Orchard. The apple picking season generally runs Sept thru Oct with different apples being in season and ripe for picking each week.

Start a yearly tradition with the whole family spending an afternoon picking your own apples right off the tree, by the pound, peck, or bushel. Pre-picked apples are also available in the market inside the big red barn.

Other Midwest apple orchards within driving distance are recommended also.

There’s A Corn Maze for Fall Fun

The County Line Orchard has two corn mazes to make sure the visit accommodates all ages. Enjoy this fall favorite with a different maze design every year.

There’s an easy, child maze sponsored by Albanese Candy Factory and also a harder, adult-size maze with a scavenger hunt feature, if you’d like to play along.

They Have A Pumpkin Patch And Sunflower Field

Visit County Line Orchard for the largest selection of pumpkins to choose from, sold by the pound. Search for your own at the pumpkin patch or choose pre-selected goodies inside the barn. Commemorate the day at the pumpkin house photo-op spot at The Patch.

There is also a beautiful sunflower field. You can pick your own sunflowers for $2 each, as well as just take in the beautiful sight of the Sunflower Field.
