Griffith Central Park is one of the most well-known parks in The Region and draws a lot of visitors because of its popular community events, new playground, and baseball fields.

1. This Will Be Your Kids Favorite Playground!

Some of the most exciting renovations at Griffith Central Park have been to the playset for children. New, more interactive, and exciting playground equipment is now available for your kids to enjoy!

There are many places to sit and enjoy the moment at Central Park Griffith Indiana.  Many wonderful shade trees adorn the area around playground. Perfect for parents looking for some extra comfort while their child plays! Enjoy the sunshine by the beautiful walking paths or get a workout while playing Frisbee with the kids.

2. Central Park Griffith Indiana Is Home to a Historic Army Tank

The  M4A1E8 Sherman Medium Tank in Griffiths Central Park has been enjoyed by all ages

Many local kids have climbed and played all over the Army Tank at Griffith Central Park. The  M4A1E8 Sherman Medium Tank Tank is located in the southeast corner of the park and includes a veteran’s memorial. For those who have visited the park before, you may have noticed the unique jeep near the tank. This was gifted to the park by the First United Methodist Church, which also donated it to the town in the 1980s.

3. The Baseball Fields and Concession Stand

There are 3 baseball fields in Central Park Griffith Indiana. (Softball fields are a short walk away at Franklin Fields). There is always a practice, a league game, or a neighborhood pick-up game going on all summer.

This park also has a concession stand during little league games. Many residents can be seen walking their dog in the early evening and grabbing a quick bite while listening to a game of summer little league baseball from the announcer’s booth. This is Midwest America at its best!

Every Friday night May thru September, there is a Griffith Central Market at Central Park. Live music plays from under The Pavilion in this family-friendly environment. Food trucks, artisan foods, wines and drinks, craftswares, and kids activities make this a great way to kick off the weekend.

 Great live blues music, great food, and fireworks make4 this late June event a Region favorite. And like all Griffith Central Park events, it’s family-friendly!

Griffith Park Full of Art

Their Annual Park Full of Art Event draws artists and art-lovers for almost 5 decades! This year it will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17. Griffith Octoberfest

This fall classic in the first week of October celebrates German food, authentic music, German beers and wines. A kids zone and pumpkin patch is also included.
