Whiting
Whiting Indiana is a small community of only about 5,000 residents. Located on the southern shore of Lake Michigan, industry is a big part of the city. Residential neighborhoods were originally build for the factory workers within the newly industrialized region.
However, beautiful lakefront areas, were saved from factories. namely, Whihala Beach, along the lakefront, attracts all of The Region. Only 16 miles from the city of Chicago, the lakefront has also been revitalized by new, luxury homes.
The popular Peirogi Festival every summer draws huge crowds waiting for these traditional Polish treats.
